One of the very finest things in Net is when you like a lot asite and want to share a page with your buddies in your social networks. Like it's known, the most powerful social media network is Facebook, with over 845 million users, so , millions of pages are shared in Facebook in a daily basis. One of the last features that Facebook added, was the possibility that we've not solely to share a link, but a meta description and a photo from that web. It helps SEO a lot.
Where is the photo?
One of my clients call me because when he attempted to share one of his posts, all of a sudden, in his Facebook Wall, there had been "a unusual blue square with something like a G". What was that? Simply it was a Gravatar emblem. And what this the Gravatar emblem doing in Facebook? Well, that was that I had to discover.
Was it an internal mistake, was it Google or was it Gravatar?
No Gravatar was active for that profile nor Site (that was almost apparent because if not, there would be a brand or a photograph and will not be the gravatar's trademark rather than their one). So it was not Gravatar. What about facebook? Perhaps, but facebook simply takes the information from pages, so it was not responsible from taking one or another image. We were playing with Wordpress, and like you almost certainly know, when something is not right in Wordpress it's because of a plugin in a 99% of the cases.
Catching what was going bad
It was time for researching all plugins, till we noticed the correct one, or in this example, the bad one: Share and Follow. It was easy. When it is configured, most of the times it is simply for keywords and social networks. You've got to select No in sharing images. Problem solved!
